A practical look at the patterns that help piano players move from reading sheet music, to creating their own music on the piano

Why piano composition is a skill you can learn, not something you’re born with.

How understanding chord progressions and patterns are all you need to start composing.

How you can use Nik’s templates to start composing today and save time.
You can play from sheet music, but you are not comfortable without it in front of you.
You have tried theory classes, YouTube or figuring it out alone, but nothing clicked.
You have ideas, but you do not know how to turn them into a finished piece.
You wonder whether you are too old, not creative enough or not a real musician.
It is not a talent problem.
It is a pattern problem.
Nik helps intermediate and advanced piano players learn how to compose, arrange, and improvise beautiful piano music with his Building Blocks Method.
When Nik was a teenager, he entered a piano composition contest in Boise. He didn't win, and he thought, "Maybe I'm just not born with the gift." He almost gave up on composing.
Then his dad found him a new piano teacher. Instead of making everything seem complicated, his teacher showed him chords, patterns, and simple formulas. Suddenly, composing started to make sense.
Years later, Nik was watching his kids build with blocks. That's when he had an idea. Music works the same way. You don't have to start with a giant masterpiece. You can build a song one simple piece at a time. That's how the Building Blocks Method was born.
Nik has a music degree from BYU. His music has been streamed more than 1 billion times, and he's helped hundreds of piano players learn how to write their own music. He knows from experience that anyone can learn to compose if they know what building blocks to use.
